Hallelujah – Christ is risen/Part I

Its interesting to note the Physical Atmosphere before He died

Luke 23:44-47 (NKJV):

Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour (Three hours – a mid-day that has become midnight).

Then the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two.

And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’” Having said this, He breathed His last.

So when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, “Certainly this was a righteous Man!”

Matthew 27:51-54 (NKJV):

Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”

John 19:34 – When the soldiers came to Jesus, they saw that He was already dead and they did not break His legs instead one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.

John 19:36 – For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, “Not one of His bones shall be broken.” ( with reference to Old Testament – Numbers 9:12, Psalm 34:20)

Jesus was taken down from the cross for burial.  He was embalmed with spices and buried in a new unused tomb.

Matthew 27:66 (NKJV) – (The chief priests and pharisees) They made the tomb secure, sealing the stone and setting the guard

The Tomb could not hold Him

But on the third day – Matthew 28:2 – 4  (NKJV)- And behold, there was a great earthquake; an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.  His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.  And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.

But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.  He is not here, for He is risen, as He said, Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him.  Behold I have told you.”

So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.

He is Alive today!! Hallelujah.
