How to pray for Healing

Power of prayer

Power of prayer

Here are some guidelines as to how to pray using God’s Words.

a. The Principle of Believing and calling forth of things that are not yet manifest… Mark 11:23-24.
God has provided healing – we need to claim spiritually before it will manifest physically.

b. His Words are life and healing… calling forth healing.. every organ to function properly… enforcing your God given authority over sickness. Romans 4:17.

c. The important principle is we should declare ourselves what God’s Word reveal about ourselves no matter what the situations may be or even how we feel. Sickness do exist but we should deny its right to exist in our body. Gal 1:13, Col 1:13.

d. Are your words giving instruction to your body? In other words telling your body what to do. Commanding your body to function according to God’s words.

e. Faith is required – believing what God says He will do. Luke 17:6.. our faith may be like a mustard seed.

f. Psalm 107:20 – God sent His Word and healed them… allowing His Words to permeates in my physical body.

g. Proverbs 4:22 – Take God’s words like medicine to our body.. keep it in your heart.
Speak or declare God’s Word to your situation daily. Words prompted by faith will produced an extraordinary outcome.
Claim healing – Isa 53:5, 6… 1 Pet 2:24, Rom 6:11, 2 Cor 5:21.

h. Prov 12:28 – In my pathway is life, healing and health. Life of God flows into every part of my body.. John 6:63… 1 Pet 2:24 … restoration

i 1 Cor 6:19 -Since our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit… Declare that my body should be in perfect order. (this is applicable if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour).

j. Mark 9:23 – “All things are possible to them that believe”
Isaiah 55:11 – So shall my word be that goeth forth our of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I send it.
Col 1:21-22.

k.The devil came to steal, kill and destroy but Christ gives us abundant life. John 10:10; John 6:63.

l. John 6:63, Rom 8:11 – God’s Word bring life

Morning Prayers

How do you begin your day?

Do you ask God’s help to manage each new day, knowing that you would be facing challenges and uncertainties?

Here’s a simple prayer …

Good morning dear Lord,
Your lovingkindness is so fresh every morning.  Help us to see the beauty of your creations each day … not to take it for granted but to enjoy the rising of the sun, the rain that refreshes the atmosphere, the birds that sing, the flowers that bloomed and the lives you have given to us.

In the hustle and bustle of our daily activities, help us to feel your presence close to us.

When faced with challenges of the day, I pray dear Father for your strength and grace.  Help me to be Your mouthpiece of encouraging someone in distress.  Fill me with Your peace and joy so that whatever circumstances I am in, I will not be shaken but focus on You and Your promises.

Should I wrong someone today, enable me Dear Lord to seek forgiveness from the person and if the adverse happens, help me to forgive and bless those that offended me, not to harbor any bitterness or resentment but to let go and let God.

Guide me Lord in my work today and grant me Your wisdom in everything I do that I may bring glory to your name.

I thank you Lord that You watches over me like a Good Shepherd.  You are my everything.  You are my strength and power source.  Help me see things through Your eyes.  You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.

I thank you that You have a plan and purpose for my life.

I commit my day into your hands…  Amen.

Praying for someone going thru’ surgery

  • Is there someone you know going for surgery?
  • Are you troubled?
  • Is it a life and death situation?

This is how I would pray for that person.

Dear Lord Jesus,

You have said in your Word (Bible) that if I call upon You, You will answer me and You will tell me great and mighty things, which I do not know. (Jer. 33:3 NASB).

Lord be with … (name of surgeon) as he performs the operation on … (name of patient). Please guide his fingers and hands, give him your wisdom as to how to operate. Be with the nurses and others who assist him in surgery.

Lord, … (name of patient) life is in your hands. Lord, I pray that … (name of patient) will not die but live to glorify Your name.
Lord Jesus, I commit … (name of patient) into your hands.

Surround him/her with your holy angels to keep watch over him/her. In You I have faith and trust.

In Jesus Almighty name.
amen.

Please note that this is not a formula for prayer but rather a simple prayer from the heart with child-like faith and trust.  A heart that is right toward God is more important than perfect words.  Lord Jesus works through people who are willing not based on our ability or capability but being available to pray with people at the point of need.

What is prayer?

E M Bounds defined it as “Prayer is the contact of a living soul with God. In prayer, God stoops to kiss man, to bless man, and to aid in everything that God can devise or man can need.” prayer is a two way communication with God, seeking Him for directions in our lives, aligning ourselves towards His purposes and plans for our lives.

  • prayer is developing a relationship between man and God, tapping into the power source, seeking for divine intervention in difficult situations/predicaments.
  • Prayer is definitely not approaching God with a list of things for Him to do.  Are you able to commit your problems into His hands and say, “Lord help me in my desperate situation and wait for Him to answer”?
