Today’s youth is tomorrow’s leader. How important it is that they are mentored and guided by caring people who would love them as they are, rebuked when necessary and prayed for their well being so that they are prepared to meet the challenges of life in the ‘real’ world out of their comfort zone. God has endowed them with special gifts that need to be develop and use for His glory. Its every parents dream to see their offspring be successful in their studies and do well in life.

I have written a short prayer guide below for parents, and others who are in touch with the youths at school:

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for our children, a heritage and a reward from You. May they grow up in wisdom and stature and in favour with God and men. Keep them from wrong relationships. May they desire to read Your Word and know You. No weapon formed against them will prosper. Guide them by Your Truth.

May they be respectful and obedient to their parents and to all who are in authority over them. Deliver them from lies and deceptions. We prayed against sicknesses or diseases over them. We claim your divine protection over them. Let all their thoughts be taken captive to the obedience to God. Help them to dwell on beautiful, positive things and guard their coming in and going out.

Lord, let your plans and purposes be accomplished in their lives. Even though we are unable to watch over them all the time, we know that Your eyes is upon them.

Help them to make the right choices in life – in careers, life-partners in marriage. Help them heed to wise advices. We thank you that they are fearfully and wonderfully created. They are unique and special in your eyes. Help them to find security in You alone, dear God.

We release them into your loving hands, dear Lord. Release us from anxieties.

We ask all these in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
